Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my friend has been having very frequent loose stools since past 4 days, there is no fever but as soon as he eats or drinks something he is running again. I gave him imodium twice a day the consistency of stool has improved and he is going less frequently, but after eating kidchi or having water he needs to go after complaining about a bit of pain in his abdomen. A few days ago he had some left over sprouts and nutri nuggets which I think we re spoilt, I think he has bacteria in his interstines, should I give him metrogyl, and is there a need to be worried about typhoid, should I get a stool test.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor my order test like stool test, endoscopy, ultrasound and take history. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole, ornidazole, laxative along with antiemetic drug. You should take plenty of fluids. For now eat light and non spicy and take antacid after every meal and take light walk after every meal.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
