What Does Glucose Reading Of 106 And AST Of 40 Suggest?
My whole side of my family on my mom's side is diabetic. My Glucose reading is 106 and my liver function test (AST) was 40. All I got from my doctor was a printout of the lab results and that was it. No follow up recommended and notes stated not clinically significant. Should I be concerned that maybe my family history was not recognized by the doctor or is it really not a big deal?

Hello,
AST level is normal and blood sugar level of 106 is normal if it is PP or random.
If the value is fasting,then you should be tested properly for the diabetes by getting Fasting,PP and HBA1c done,because a fasting level between 100 and 126 is termed as impaired fasting glucose or Pre diabetes.
