What Does Green Discharge From The Right Eye Indicate?

My right eye is draining green and white puss since I woke this morning. I have allowed warm water in the shower to rinse it. The inside of the eye lid and red. I used some ophthalmic Ciprofloxin twice and warm compresses. I have an upper respiratory infection for the last 3 daysbut chills and aches for 8 days.
Any thoughts on what else I should be doing?.

it appears to be bacterial conjunctivitis. clean the eye with clean fresh water. apply ofloxacin .3% eye drop 6 hourly. apply neosporine eye ointment at bed time consult ent specialist for treatment of upper respiratory tract infection chance retrograde infection to eye is there.
