What Does Hard Lump Behind Ear Imply?

I found a hard lump the size of a small marble behind my ear the other day. It feels like a part of my bone and it doesn t move when I push on it. It doesn t really cause me pain either except maybe a little pressure if I push on it. What could it be?

Hello,
Common causes could be bone, a swollen lymph node, and infection, cyste, or disc from the TMJ. A more serious conditions such as tumors or vascular problems are possible.
Consider visiting your doctor or dentist for a clinical diagnosis and additional diagnostic tests if necessary. Have you had any recent infections or do you have any dental conditions that need treatment? Lymph nodes can be swollen and not necessarily painful. Does the location change when you open and close your jaw? This may be part of your jaw.
Have you had any trauma to your joy? This is another consideration.
Try to take some anti-inflammatory medication such as Tylenol or Motrin and for relief and to reduce swelling. If swelling continues or worsens schedule a visit with your doctor or dentist.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope your condition results quickly.
