What Does High GGT Level In Pregnancy Indicate?
Hi, i am 35 years old , expecting my 5th child , 36 weeks pregnant , diabetic for 3 years on glucophage, having itching all over my body for one week, doctor did my liver tests and said my GGT is 200 ( high), other tests are normal, she also asked for my bile acids level but not ready, what does this mean? thank you.

- High GGT level indicates liver disease.
- Itching all over the body is a common symptom in liver disease( jaundice).
Increased serrum bile acids helps in assesing severity of liver disease & also response to treatment.. Low or absent bile acids indicate mild to moderate degree of liver involvement.
