What Does High MCHC Level Indicate?

My last lab work-up was 25 Feb, 2014. My MCHC was high...(5.2) My BASOL Absolute was high.... (.10) My Sodium, Chloride & AST (SGOT) was low My VA provider told me there is no concern. Should I be concerned? I have read multiple articles in response to a High BASOL Ab, that is should be looked at?????

Hi!
welcome to HCM!
High Basophil count is significant and must be carefully followed up.
An increased percentage of basophils may be due to an Allergic reaction,Collagen vascular disease or Myeloproliferative disease.Mostly allergy is the cause but sometimes it is associated with early case of myeloproliferative disease which needs a follow up.Rest of tests are low Sodium chloride for which you need treatment.
hope this helps!
