having high fever 103 degree F for las 24 hrs. the abnormal parameter in CBC is as follows: TLC is 12000 cell/cum eosinophils is 8% MCH is 26.4 pg Periferal smear - red cells are normoctic normochronic. rest are normal readings in CBC test. patient age is 13 yrs
Hi, Total leukocyte count at age of 13 years (normal levels - upto 15000) is higher than in normal adults and it is normal. Eosinophils is raised to 8%. If there are no symptoms of allergy, it can be safely ignored. MCH is just below the normal limits (27-33). As the peripheral smear showing normocytic normochromic blood picture, you need not worry about MCH. High fever is not correlating to any abnormalities in blood. Possibly hematological changes in the present scenario might occur late. Any further queries, happy to answer again.
