What Does High Fever In A Child Post Head Injury Indicate?
my 3 year old son bumped his head two days ago..it just looked like a graze with no bleeding. he felt sick straight aftetwards and had a temperature. he hasnt been sick but still has a temperature which im trying to control with calpol but I cant cool him completely down.i assumed hes just got a bug but now wondering would this be anything to do when he bumped his head?? many thanks
Fever followed by bump in head needs to be assessed by head CT. Injury to internal head structures need to be ruled out by a CT head. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and CT head. In case there is no abnormality in CT head, the cause of fever needs to be investigated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
