What Does Huge Painful Lump On Side Of Tongue Indicate?

I have a huge lump on the side of my tongue in the back. It hurts when anything touches it, and I can barely swallow any food. I can only drink. What is it?
If it helps, I'm currently taking prescribed pills for my future root canal, and for my toothache (which doesn't help, cause it's still hurting at the moment).

hello thanks for consulting at hcm..how long it is thre??it could be tonsillitis, but ur antibiotics r not working, may be u need higher antibiotics,,and have a check up with ur dentist and ent specialist..do salt water gargle thrice daily,,hp it helps,,tc
