What Does Increase In Heart Rate After Cardiac Ablation Indicate?

I had a cardiac ablation 6weeks ago. Initially under local anesthesia but my hear wouldn t go back into a normal sins rhythm so i was then putd GA and the heart shocked twice. Since then I ve been very tired with problems with excess stomach acid. I now feel very nauseous if I move around and my heart rate increases to 136/90 if i move around. Should i see my doctor or just wait for it to settle

Hi,

What you mentioned here (136/90) is blood pressure, and not heart rate. A BP reading of 136/90 while moving around is normal only. If you do not have symptoms like palpitation, dizziness or dyspnea while moving around, you need not worry now.

For acidity symptoms like epigastric discomfort, retching and nausea, try taking antacids like pantoprazole (40mg once daily) for 5-7 days. Domperidone (10mg 2-3 times a day) can relieve nausea. Also avoid spicy and fried food items for few days, include fibre rich items in diet, and drink enough fluids.

If symptoms are not getting down by 3 days, kindly discuss with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
