Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 17 year old son has had right abdominal pain not severe but always there for 12 months. He has had ultrasound showing inflammation of lymph nodes and a gastroscopy which was ok. Yesterday he had a colonoscopy results showed the ileum mucosa was slightly nodular... Biopsies were taken. I am scared it is serious though he is in good health other than this pain no diarrhoea vomitting or weight loss at all. Could this be Crohns Disease my family has a history of auto immune diseases I myself have Graves Disease & Celiacs my sister has type one Diabetes & and under active thyroid Mum type two Diabetes & Polymialga.
It is suggestive of Crohn's disease until proved other wise. I have gone through the reports of abdominal ultrasound and colonoscopy which indicate that your son seem to be suffering from Crohn's disease however the biopsies taken will confirm the disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
