What Does It Mean By Gamma- Glutamyi Transferase Serum As 48u/l?
Yes please DR. Charles Narasi. Iam 66yrs old male with type2 diabetic for the past 35 yrs. My latest blood test results show that the Gamma- Glutamyi Transferase serum as 48u/l and my Urine microalb/ Cre Screening Abnormal 3.4 mg/mmol creatine. Please tell me anything wrong
Dear Sir, Your microalbuminuria screening is perfectly fine meaning your kidneys are working very well. Normal value of Gamma-Glutamyl transferase is generally 0-30 IU/L. GGT is an indication of your liver function. The most common cause for elevation is due to alcohol intake. GGT is normally done along with LFT. There is nothing to be scared for a slight elevation in GGT. Kindly Repeat GGT along with LFT after a month
