What Does It Mean For Widal Test To Show S.typhi "O" Positive?

Hi, My widal test results are S.typhi "O" Positive 1:80 and "H" Positive 1:80, "AH" -Negavie 1:20 and "BH" - Negative 1:20 and taking antibiotics since yesterday, let me know is it serious and how many days i have to take rest, morning i am feeling bit OK but at night times I am felling feverish, after getting cured how many days i have to avoid sex

Hello

Your reports suggests positive widal test.It indicates typhoid fever.Its titration for positive results varies with laboratory.
A single Widal test is of little clinical relevance due to the number of cross reacting infections.However,four fold increase in serial titration is confirmatory.

You need to take antibiotics regularly for 5- 7 days.Expected days of recovery is within 7-10 days.
There is no need of abstinence from sex due to this disease.
