What Does Itching In The Nipples While Suffering From Breast Cancer Indicate?

I have had breast cancer and had an oncoplasti procedure accomplished during the surgery to remove the cancerous areas on both breasts. Lately my nipple on the left side has been itchy. Is this something that I should let my oncologist know about or am I just being over worried.
