What Does Lack Of Osseous Abnormalities Mean In An X-ray Report?
Hi there; I was at the ER yesterday due to pain in my chest/shoulder and severe pain when breathing. They checked for blood clots and determined that I don t have any. My x-ray results say no osseous abnormalities , but my diagnosis says musculoskeletal. Does the no osseous abnormalities mean that I don t have any broken bones?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per the report, there's no evidence of broken bones. Musculoskeletal means involving or made up of the muscles, ligaments, tendons, the bones, and joints. Osseous means consisting of bones and in chest and shoulder, it includes ribs, vertebra, clavicle, and humerus. As per the given X-ray report, there is no abnormality in your bones.
Pain could be due to other structures involved in the chest and shoulder. You need to be clinically examined for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
