What Does Large Shadow Behind His Heart Mean?
Hello, my brother has recently seen a heart and lung specialist who told him he has a large shadow behind his heart in the x-ray. He was also told his platelet count is about 100x higher than normal . He is now due for a CT scan and biopsy. Can you give any guidance as to what might be going on?

Large shadow probably refering for some mass or tumor, for which they must be planning to know the details of the mass. Afterwards they will do the biopsy to confirm the diagnosis and further treatment. so here is the possibility of cancer is there, which can be confirmed by biopsy and treatment can be given accordingly.
