Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have two lines running down my inner thigh. It looks like a fake tan. I don t fake tan. I ve had them for 3 weeks. Nothing has changed in skin care. And will not was off. They are in the middle of my thigh. The don t go up to the top part of my thigh. And don t go down to the knee
Lines on the inner thigh indicate 'striae', stretch marks on your inner thighs caused by constant shedding and putting on your weight. They form in the middle layer of your skin after being stretched too far. When the connective fibers of your skin stretch too much, they can tear and leave a mark. To prevent stretch marks you should keep yourself well hydrated. Maintain a constant weight. Do not keep shedding and gaining weight.
The red lines will fade away and turn back to normal skin color, but will remain visible. You can apply any stretch removal cream on the area affected to help the scars go away faster. Hyaluronic acid-based cream is equally effective. Topical Tretinoin (retinoid) or retinol works best for some people. Get examined by a dermatologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
