What Does Loss Of Voice With Sore Throat Indicate?

I had a soar throat a few days ago nothing bad. But, now I have no voice. I feel it in my chest. Don't have to cough much. It feels more like I really need to clear my throat. I feel fine other then that. Is this just a cold or something else?

Hello

It is likely that you have developed a swelling or an infection of your voice box or lower airway which is causing the feeling of clearing your throat. dont worry , this will settle down in a week or two. Just take plenty of liquids , voice rest and steam inhalation 2-3 times a day and you will be fine.
