What Does Low WBC Count And High RBC Count In Blood-work Indicate?

I had pneumonia and then bronchitis . Blood work shows a lower white blood count and a high red blood count. I have yet to speak with the doctor because he just sent me the results of bloodwork per my request. Should I call him to have him go over the results or wait till my follow up visit in 8 days?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a transient change following infection. You can repeat the test after two weeks to check whether the change is persists or not. If the white cell count is abnormal, a peripheral smear may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
