What Does Low Amniotic Fluid Volume Of 7/8 With Largest Pocket Of 3.9cm Suggest?
Hi i have 28 week 4 days pregnancy, yesterday my doctor advised an ulrtasound which revealed low amniotic fluid volume i.e. 7/8 with largest pocket measuring 3.9cm, . A prior ultrasound at 19 weeks showed adequate liqour content. i ahve been advised to take rest and drink lot of fluids and also get two steroid injections. should i worry because the doctor said there are no complications otherwise vis-a vis development of baby, or my health. whatshould be done to increase liqour??
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the liquor is calculated by taking average of four pockets. So overall it is less or.,7/8.It might be due to dehydration or any urinary tract or kidney abnormalities. But if there are any abnormalities they are seen in.ultrasound.So as the report is not showing any abnormalities of fetus low liquor might be mostly due to dehydration. So take adequate fluids upto 3 litres. And rest to increase the fluid content. You can also have IV fructose infusions after discussing with your doctor.
