Hi,

Loss of appetite, stomach pain, and loose stools with mucus after treatment for pneumonia could be due to a few different factors. One possibility is that the antibiotics used to treat pneumonia may have disrupted the balance of bacteria in her gut, leading to gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea and abdominal pain. This is a common side effect of antibiotics and may require probiotics or other treatments to restore normal gut function.

Another possibility is that pneumonia and the treatment have caused inflammation in the digestive tract, leading to these symptoms. In some cases, pneumonia can cause an infection in the digestive system, such as gastroenteritis, which can lead to symptoms like diarrhea and abdominal pain.

It is also possible that these symptoms are unrelated to pneumonia and its treatment, and may be caused by another underlying condition. For example, some digestive disorders like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can cause similar symptoms.

It would be best to have your mother evaluated by her healthcare provider, who can examine her, run tests if necessary, and determine the cause of her symptoms. Based on the findings, appropriate treatment can be recommended.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
