What Does Mass In The Pelvis And Tissue In The Cervix Mean?

Hello, I recently had a CT scan with contrast at the hospital. The doctor discovered that I have a mass in the pelvis with prominence of tissue in the region of the cervix. He told me that I have to follow up with GYN asap. However, the GYN told me that it is nothing and didn t even check me. Should I worry, and go to another doctor, or the GYN was right? I have low back pain, abdomen pain and discomfort, urge to urinate frequently. Also, often after I eat, I have burps and feel bloated. Thank you very much.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about pain in abdomen, discomfort, urge to urinate frequently, burping, bloating; CT scan shows a mass in pelvis and prominence of tissues in region of cervix, referred to Gynecologist, she says nothing/
Surely the CT scan report of a mass in pelvis and prominence in cervix is indicative of further studies to see for any cancer or so.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Take an opinion of a another Gynecologist, internal actual examination and per-speculum examination. If the mobility of the tissues is going to be less then cancer should be thought about, biopsy done.
Further treatment will be as per the histopathology report.
Take symptomatic treatment for other complaints to have relief.
Consult a Cancer Surgeon for the CT report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
