What Does Metallic Taste In The Mouth Indicate?

I have a metallic taste in my mouth which has been going on for 4 weeks. I have 3 month dental visits so I don t believe dental issues are the cause. I have been on xiidra for 18 months but stopped it 5 days ago. this lowered the taste but did not eliminate it.

Hello,

The cause of metal taste might be due to halitosis it is most common and just you would have to evaluate any other chronic infection and fever.

You may require basic investigation like hemogram.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kalyan Kumar
