What Does Microscopic Blood In Stool From Test Indicate?

I was 83 on February 12. In November a test showed microscopic blood in my stool. I have fears about a colonoscopy. Is it that urgent to have one? My email is: YYYY@YYYY . I m scheduled for one on 2/20/15 and would like to cancel it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Having microscopic blood i.e. malina at this age requires evaluation of your case.
This can be due to,
Gastritis,
Gastric ulcer,
some chronic GI infection,
Cancer in GI tract.
Go for ultra sound and endoscopy.
Consult gstro-enterologist and get investigated.
Ok and take care.
