Hi,

This is a usual finding in pregnant females. Pelvi-calyceal dilatation means there is some obstruction to urine flow from the kidneys. Pathologic causes include stones (Ureteric Calculi), strictures and infections. However, in pregnancy it can be a normal finding because of the pressure exerted by the pregnant uterus on the urinary system. However, the entire report of the scan needs to be seen to opine. Kindly consult with the OBGYN consultant your wife is seeing for advice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
