What Does Moderate Degree Of Central Canal Stenosis Indicate?

my husband had an accident at work on lift truck and we need to know if this caused the following:
at C5-6 level, there is marked right lateral recess narrowing with impingement upon the exiting right C6 nerve root?
Disc spur complexes at C4-5 and C5-6 level; there is a moderate degree of central canal stenosis?

Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic.
Accidents will cause fractures of the vertebral coloumn or disruption of ligaments attaching the vertebrae. In case of your husband, there are disc-spur complexes which occur as degenerative changes with aging. The disc has protruded posteriorly and is causing compression of the spinal canal causing stenosis.
The important thing to be seen is whether the spinal cord is normal or not and whether any slippage of vertebra is there.
I think the disc spur complex was there before but due to the accident it might have aggravated causing him acute pain.
Please make sure there is no vertebral fracture which can cause aggravation of symptoms and usually occurs due to accidents.
Hope it sorts your problem and wishing your husband a speedy recovery.
