What Does Mucus In Stool While Suffering From Sinusitis Indicate?

I have had mucus in my stools for about a month. I also have had a sinus infection for about the same time. I am currently on a regimen of Augmentin and am about 1/2 way through my 10 day cycle. My sinus infection has definitely cleared up, but still seeing mucus in my stools. Is there some other cause for this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to the HCM!

Mucus in stool can be seen when one is on an excess fatty diet.

So less oily food is recommended.

Mucus in stool can be seen in intestinal infection.

So investigate further with stool routine microscopic examination to detect if pus cells or parasite is present

Hope this solves your concern.

Consult your physician for further examination and discuss your case if needed.

Take care
