What Does Multinodular Goiter Mean?

The right lobe is 3.5 x 2.0 x1.8 and the left lobe is 3.8 x1.7 x1.5. The istomus is0.5 cm. The thyroid parenchyme is idffusely hetergeneous. Findings consistent with a multinodular goiter. the gland is diffusely nodular. I am a 52 year old female, 5 tall, 135 lbs. What does this mean?

This means your thyroid gland is showing abnormal growth at some pockets. It may lead tocancer in long run. There may be need to for a partial or total thyroid gland removal if thyroid function tests are normal. consult your surgeon immediately.
