Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My CBC test says normocytic normochromic left shift neutrophils. I am not sure what that means. I have not fallen ill in the last month, no injuries either. I do suffer from severe headaches off and on. What does the test mean? The following were not within normal ranges, WBC- 10.2×10E9/L (4.0-10.0) Platelets- 402×10E9/L (150-400) neutrophils- 64.8% (40-75)
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. Normocytic normochromic means Your red blood cells are of normal size & normal colour. left shift refers to the presence of increased proportions of younger, less well differentiated neutrophils, which suggest some recent infection. Your WBC are 10.2×10E9/L (4.0-10.0),Platelets are 402×10E9/L (150-400) & neutrophils are 64.8% (40-75) are slightly high & suggest some recent mild infection & nothing more. As you said thatyou are healthy & have not fallen ill in the last month, so these reports are of little significance in you.
Don't worry you should be fine Hoping your query is solved.
