I ve had tingling in my foot started on my left side in my arm then my leg now its in my feet both sides now..Doctor gave me a 6 day steroid still didn t help it. Doctor ordered blood work..Nothing alarming..I m more annoyed then anything..My CRP level is 5.6 if that means anything my GP doesn t get back to me I ve had this for 10 days.
There are different possible causes such as: (1)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency (2)diabetes (3)trauma (4)liver or kidney disease (5)exposure to toxins (6)side effect of medication (7)stroke or multiple sclerosis (8)some hormonal conditions (9)idiopathic- cause not known
The blood tests should include checks for vitamin b12, folate, diabetes screen, liver and kidney function tests.
There are medications that can help with nerve related discomfort such as amitriptyline, tegretol, gabapentin, lyrica.
I hope this helps
