My ct findings came back stating lungs & airways: few scattered lung cysts bilaterLly. Multifocal airspace disease involving upper right and left lobes, mild paraseptal emphysema bilaterally. Mediastinum & hika: Prominent mediastinal & bilateral hilar lymphnodes, llikely reactive. Can you explain to me? Theyjust advised I get a follow up ct Iin 6 weeks
The airspace disease in your upper right and left lobes is a term that usually means you have pneumonia. This is supported by the reactive lymph nodes.
There are also some aging changes in the lungs like the lung cysts and the emphysema. I suspect they put you on antibiotics and the follow up scan is to see if the infection (pneumonia) will have been treated by then.
All the best.
