What Does My MRI Scan Indicate?

Hello, I had a spinal fusion L5-S1 in 97 & 2004 removal of pins & screws.current 2010 MRI as follows: c3-4 minor uncinated disease,c5-6 minor circumferential bulging anterior marginal osteophytes;c6-7 circumferential bulge with right uncinated arthrosis, potentially significant foraminal stenosis, correlate for right c7 radiculopathy.L3-4 minor bulge with the very slight facet arthrosis,L4-5 circumferential bulge, redundancy ligament flava, mild facet arthrosis.L5-S1 footprint of left laminectomy, trat for pedicle screws within the L% n S1 pedicles extending into the medial anterior bodybilaterally.no evidence for interbody graft.there is minor high T1 and high T2 signal withon the upper spect of the annulus juxtasposed to the L5 vertebral body,no significant enhancement, there is cicatrix surrounding the left S1 root as it emerges from the sac,no mass effect or critical stenosis, there is no convincing evidence for anachnoiditis, several tiny bilateral height T2 renal masses consistent with small cysts.Diskogram 2011 as follows: L4-5contrast is noted centrally and extending posteriorly to the outer third of the annulus from approximately the 4-7 o clock positions.contrast then extends around the 1/3 of the annulus from approximately the 3 to 1 o clock positions.mild anular disk bulge is noted, there is a ligamentum flavum thickening present.these findings cause mild to moderate central canal stenosis.x-ray 2011 thers is a grade 1 anterolisthesis L4 on L5 during flexion only.atherosclerotic calcifications abdominal aorta, transitional lumbosacral vertebra with disc space narrowing L5-S1. My question is why can they not do another spinal fusion on my lumbar region and would they do a cervical fusion.I tried physical & aqua therapy, steriod injections, chiropractor,I can t do anything else they were all unsuccessful.Last resort they want to put a lumbar stimulater in and I refused too many negative issues with those and its permanent n no Mri once implanted, now the latest thing is they want to implant a nuerostimulater in my neck area.I would much rather have fusions for my lower back and neck before I resort to that, which is not really beneficial from what I have been reading. Most of the time I m in a great deal of pain can t function, everyday is a struggle n now I get a lot of migraines along with right ear pain,it.s getting much worst,Any suggestions would be considered, tell it to me straight,Thank you,Jody M.

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The report suggest there is status of fusion vertebrae and laminectomy at mentioned levels.
2.The present features on 2010 MRI of osteophytes and the bulges with annular tear and indentation on the thecal sac are degenerative changes.
3.Its age related in most of the cases, heavy working individuals with the facet joint changes.
4.Facet joint inflammation is seen in different levels of the spinal vertebral joints.
5.The question why are they not doing fusion - it depends on the age and status of the vertebral bodies and underlying medical conditions.

Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query,
any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask.
