Hi Dr my father is 81 years old and is complaining of constant dizziness . We have conducted MRI scans which does not reveal any abnormality as per neurologist. He was also checked for vertigo which was negative. We are not able to understand which specialist to consult
Dizziness may be due to many causes like hypertension, internal ear problem, spondylotic changes in cervical spine, metabolic disorder etc. Your father need proper clinical examination and routine investigations. It is good that MRI findings are normal. He may need detail examination by a ENT specialist for ear problem. He may also need routine hemogram, random blood sugar, liver and renal function test, urine RE/ME,X-ray cervical spine(AP/Lateral view). Treatment depend upon findings.
