Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
If an MRI of spine showed a suspicious spot...doctor referred for brain MRI...there is a small spot on brain... all found incidentally due to herniated disc surgery...no other symptoms. oncologist is now ordering a colonoscopy? am trying to figure out why?
As you explain the situation and based in the MRI result in my opinion, the oncologist is suspicious of you having a colon malignancy and this might be one reason. Please discuss with your doctor to explain you further.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
