Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had a MRI Brain w/ would the other day. Dr stated there is a subtle area of of abnormal signal within the left poster parietal calvarium which demonstrates increased signal on T1 and T2 weighted imaging, this measures approximately 1.5 cm x 0.5 cm in size. Would this most likely being in nature and could be represent an etiology such as a venous lake? And would a bone scan be the next thing to do?
It can be due to central venous thrombosis or abscess, but neurosurgical review with films of MRi should be sought to compare clinical picture with the diagnostic possibilities. Bone scan may be done to look for any metastatic disease signs though it seems less likely to be metastatic space occupying lesion based on the description.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
