Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
MRI results: decreased T1 signal with loss of the normal fatty marrow signal intensity throughout the clivus, calvarium, and vertebral bodies, this finding is nonspecific and consistent with a diffuse marrow replacement process and may be seen with anemia, smoking, or drug therapies with other etiologies not excluded. I have not been diagnosed as anemic; never smoked, and drug therapies have included cholestrol medicine, and thyroid replacement hormone. What does this mean?
I suggest you to consult a hematologist for clinical assessment, review of any past history, complete blood counts and bone marrow aspiration / biopsy. The above mentioned investigations will determine the cause of changes seen in bone marrow in the bones.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
