Had a mri for lower back pain and pain in left leg. At L4-L5 there is tiny disc bulge without neural encroachment.There is moderate degenerative facet change and ligamentum flavum hypertroph with moderate lateral recess narrowing. At L3-L4 there is mild central and paracentral disc protrusion with effacement of the anterior sac.There is also a mild broad based disc bulge.There is mild degenerative facet change and ligamentum flavum hyertrophy.There is mild left neural foraminal narrowing. At L2-L3 there is a mild disc bulge with tiny central disc protrusion without neural encroachment.What does this all mean ?

Welcome to HCM. As per the the MRI spine report there are multiple area of degeneration within the spine at different levels which reduced the interdisc space between two adjacent vertebrae a result of this degenerative changes there is compensatory of the ligament overlying these areas. At some levels of spinal cord there is disc protusion also. So i would advice to follow up with this report to a spine specialist doctor he would advice further. Thanks and regards. Take care.
