i had travelled for some job work from mumbai to ahmedabad for past 6months, i have found sgpt / alt count of 42 in my today's blood report, please suggest if it requires attention and is it primary indication of jaundice. i had complained of restlessness and breathlesness yesterday morning while at office

Hello and welcome to HCM,
SGOT or ALT is a liver enzyme which is elevated in cases of hepatocyte or liver damage.
The normal level of SGOT or ALT is between 0-40 IU/L.
It is elevated in cases of infections especially viral infections, drugs, toxins, etc.
The level of SGOT usually increases along with SGPT levels.
Value of 42 IU/L is normal level.
It does not indicate any disease of liver.
