General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

TSH should be 0.5-5 to be considered normal. On the other hand, if it is 5-10, sometimes other tests may be done to determine if treatment is needed or not. For instance, anti-TPO, FT4, FT3 can be examined as well.

If you have no symptoms, FT4 and FT3 are normal and anti-TPO is not increased then this is subclinical hypothyroidism and no treatment is necessary at the moment but just follow up with TSH, FT4, and FT3 in 3-6 months.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
