What Does My X-Ray Report Indicate?

My X-RAY shows Right paratracheal soft tissue SOL? right paratracheal lymphnodal mass or right paratracheal SOL Patch of pneumonitis seen in the left upper zone. Advise lateral view of chest or CT of the lungs and thorax. To correlate radiological findings with clinical, hematological sputum and monteux test. Is there anything serious on this ? I am quite nervous to get these tests done. Please suggest Thanks in Advance!!!

Geriatrics Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Right paratracheal soft tissue SOL - means a space occupying lesion on the right side of trachea. It is soft tissue swelling, possibly lymphnode.
2. In the upper area of left lung, patch of inflammation of lung is seen.
3. Both features, would suggest a possibility of tuberculosis infection.
4. Further tests, blood tests, sputum for tuberculous bacilli and Mantoux test to confirm TB is necessary. Get the tests done.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
