What Does My X-ray Report For Breathlessness And Bronchitis Indicate?

hello, recently went to ER for shortness of breath, severe cough. Worried about pneumonia. was bronchitis. The XRay results findings as noted by the doctor indicated cardiomegaly is noted and pulmonary vasculature is slightly prominent . Concerned about this information. Have an appt with GP on Tuesday. Are these normal findings with shortness of breath, bronchitis? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hey.

Welcome to HCM.

In my opinion, cardiomegaly with slightly prominent pulmonary vasculature along with shortness of breath, can be an early indication of Cardiac abnormalities. But yes, this is not a rule.

If i were your treating doctor, i would have advised you 2D-ECHO CARDIOGRAPHY and ECG as well to rule out cardiac problems.

Then, based on the reports i would have treated you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any questions, then i will be happy to help you.

Take care.:)

Warm Regards.
Dr. Surender sharma.
