What Does My X-ray Test Result Indicate?

The result of my recent xray showed I have a minimal fibrosis upper right lung.. I cannot remember having any problem with my lungs in my whole life even having tuberculosis.. though I suffered from bronchitis maybe some 20 years ago but was healed thru medication.. I am 48 years old right now and I want to know how come I have that on my lungs as per the xray? I was told that I am unfit to work in saudi arabia because of this? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that the x-ray findings you have described may or may not be of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

These may be due to foreign particles, old pneumonia, occupational diseases too.

Better you get yourself checked with montaux test and if positive sputum and gene expert. This may be due to some old lung abscess too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
