Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 29 years old male with h/o piles(bleeding on nd off for 2 years)......otherwise no signs & symptoms. I m worried about why my hemoglobin is rising despite bleeding.. Labs: Hb: 15.1( last yr it was 14) Wbc: 6.4 Plt: 243 Hct: 42 Mcv: 78 MCHC: 35.6 MCH: 27.9 RDW: 14.6
The drop in hemoglobin is dependant on the amount of Blood you loose through bleeding piles. But in your case I suppose you aren't loosing so much as your history says you bleed once a while and not regularly. More over you check with your diet.. I suppose you should be having iron rich nonvegetarian diet
