What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

I am 21 yrs old and I weigh 105 pounds. And my metabolism is high. Also, I have had cycle problem recently as I tried to gain weight by working out and drinking protein shake. I went to my doctor and when my I had my blood test report she said my LH level is high which is not good indication. Do you think taking Apetamin Syrup to gain weight will cause any problem?

Hi,

Apetamin is a medication that contains- Cyproheptadine which is an antihistaminic drug. Its side effects are increased appetite hence it is getting misused as a weight gaining vitamin syrup.

However, I would suggest that eat healthy food, exercise morning and evening by joining aerobic classes or jogging.

Physical activity also increases appetite. Eat foods rich in proteins like meat, eggs, and milk products along with carbohydrates like mashed potatoes, bananas.

Add a good amount of butter to your food. All this will help you put on in a safer healthier way.

Regarding cycle problem. Kindly consult a gynecologist and get your thyroid profile.

Since LH is high consult your doctor as they may recommend an ultrasonography scan to see any underlying ovarian pathology.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
