I have the chest xray result read follows : "Heart is within normal limits in size. Its configuration is unremarkable. Pulmonary vascularity is normal. Questionable infiltrates are noted in the upper lobe. Rest of the lungs are clear. The lateral costophrenic sinuses are sharp. Hili are not enlarged. Visualized osseous structures are normal." What does it mean? Please help me.
I was diagnosed PTB last 2008, i take medication and it was cured. Since then, I always go to doctor when having slight coughing. My last chest-xray was on 2013 and the result is normal. On First week of January 2014, because of rain, I had a fever and I started coughing. I did not go to doctor immediately. I just take medicine for fever and cough. The fever was cure BUT the cough with phlegm is not. Cough became dry until now feb 2014. And I started to feel difficulty of breathing, chest pain sometimes, breath shortening. My doctor told me before that i have allergy. My chest xray above is the result awhile ago. Can you please help me?
Wellcome HCM Tuberculosis predominantly affects upper lobes. You are a known case of tuberculosis in past and thats why you should be more careful. In your case the chest x ray shows questionable infiltrates in upper lobe which suggest that either the past tuberculosis infection has caused those changes or currently you have a active focus in there. The presence of dry cough not getting cured with medications strongly suspects that you may have reactivation of infection and for which you should consult a chest physician as soon as possible and undergo related tests.
