Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This is a Chest x-ray single view AMB on July 15, 2016. I would like to know what this X-ray report means and what suggestions you may have for follow-up for my 91 yr old mother. Indication: reassess RLL collapse, history of plueral effusion. Comparison: CT scan of chest x-ray performed July 1, 2016. Impression: The cardiomediastinal silhoutte is enlarged. Shift of the trachea to the right due to enlarged thyroid gland. Persistent right Beseler opus sites suggest a combination of airspace disease and a plueral effusion. There is no pneumothorax.
X-ray chest with CT chest shows opacities at base of the right lung with pleural effusion due to pneumonic collapse-consolidation and synpneumonic pleural effusion most likely infective cause. Mediastinal enlargement may be due to lymphadenopathy and goitre.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
