What Does My Chest Scan Report Mean?

HI, DOC THERE IS A SUSPICIOUS DENSITY FOUND IN MY LEFT APICAL REGION. THE TRACHEA IS IN THE MIDLINE, THE HEART IS NOT ENLARGE, THE PULMONARY VESSELS ARE WITHI NORMAL LIMITS, BOTH HEMIDIAPHRAGMS ASRE DISTINCT, THE OSSEOUS THORATIC CAGE REVEALS NO SIGNIFICANT BONY ABNORMALITY. SUGGEST FOR APICOLORDOTIC VIEW. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
There is an area of suspicious opacity in your chest X ray, at the region of left apical region. This is still doubtful and seeing it by taking another X ray in a different projection (apicolordotic) view will often help in getting a better insight. Your symptoms are also important before making a diagnosis. In X rays there are many overlapping shadows at time leading to false perception and in that case, it will come out clear in the repeated X ray. If further doubt persists then a CT scan of chest is suggested.
