What Does My Colonoscopy Test Report Indicate?

I was diagnosed with cirrosis of the liver about 5+ years ago. All has gone nicely, as I have followed al treatment and counseling since then I recently had a colonoscopy exam, and it was noted that my appendix is swollen- -out of the blue. During a follow up appointment with a doctor/surgeon today I was totally surprised with his very brief study of the pictures taken during the colonoscopy exam. I was told today that this condition could only be due to a cancerous tumor on the appendix. As a result, my future would be 1). to go in and pull the appendix for observation, and pray for the best (but unlikely). 2). remove the appendix and at the same time remove the right half of my liver (leading more than to death) I would be ineligible for a liver transplant will be out of the attention and early demise will be the inevitable conclusion. or 3). leave it alone and hope well for what time you have left. I found in an article I found on-line stated the the appendix can develop a pus-filled that walls off the appendix, and it can be removed surgically. This I believes me to believe could be what is going, as he was not EXACTLY certain of what he was actually seeing. However he never made any inference to this possibility. I am 62 years old and looking forward to seeing my first granddaughter, now on the way. I would appreciate you conclusions on the facts/circumstances I have described. SORRY this took so long to get to you!

It is a little bit strange that the doctor had seen apendix during a colonoscopy. And if they suspect a cancer it is normal procedure to take a biopsy specimen and to do an histologic examination. And what with the liver?!!! It can not be seen during a colonoscopy. Anyway my opinion is that other that this exam you have to do a CT scan for staging.
