What Does My Iron Profile Indicate?

Recently had my blood work done and found a few wee problems....high cholesterol, hormones out of whack, but have a question regarding my iron profile. Transferrin is 1.9 g/L, calculated TIBC is 48 umol/L The doc was testing because I ve had a sudden weight loss (unintentional) and am exhausted 24 hours a day no matter how much sleep I get. Hemoglobin is fine, 12.4. My eGFR is 64 ml/min, but everything else is within normal range, albeit low end of range. Cholesterol is 7.2 triglyceride is 0.81 and LDL is 5.2. Having a gastroscopy next week. Had a hysterectomy at 30 but have one ovary. Am 52 years old today. Any suggestions as per boosting my energy levels? I work a lot, but shouldn t be this exhausted, even on holidays. Thanks. Heather

Hello,

The problem with you being exhausted is due to anemia and possible renal issues. Once you'll get properly treated, then, you won't be feeling such exhausted. So, better do get regular follow ups with your caring doctor and try to treat the underlying health problems properly. Try to eat healthy. Multivitamins can also help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
