What Does My Kidney Biopsy Test Report Indicate?

my fiance has had leg swelling, leg ulcers and now recently been diagnosed with IGa Nephropathy. His labs continue to worsen, and he has been to numerous specialists, and had a kidney biopsy as well. This has been going on for 3 1/2 months now and we still do not have an answer as to what is causing the swelling, and why the leg ulcers are not healing. The Nephrologist seemed to be more concerned with the ulcer on the leg than she was with the IGa path result from the biopsy. We are both becoming very discouraged, and the pain from the leg swelling and sores is keeping him from living a normal life right now. He s unable to do many things because of the leg pain. No one has brought up diet for kidney disease, nor has anyone brought up what ETOH could do to fragile kidney s. He drinks beer every night, and since this whole thing started, I d say on weekends he drinks more to ease the pain from his legs. We would appreciate any direction or guidance you could give us.
